I can't wait until cities are just big buildings surrounded by plants like this. and everything is recyclable and clean air and we live harmoniously with the environment. Sign! One can dream

@bhtooefr @cypnk I worked on a software project for a local hospital a while ago and the was a requirement in the contract that said all patient data stored or transmitted had to be encrypted with "the very secure DES algorithm". The world is full with shit like this!

Reminder, Google AMP is bad for the open web. It was bad at inception and it just gets worse.
Ugh. Google AMP is now “improving the performance of mobile content and advertising” by jamming ads *into* photos.

it should be a crime to release software that could be useful to non-coders by just linking to a github page that does not explain where to get the download

I don't know how much you nerds realize this, but every time the top link on your github page is not "where to download a working version of this that you do not need to be in my *actual day job profession* in order to understand" I lose enthusiasm for and interest in your project by a factor of maybe one hundred million percent

I made a flow chart of which #Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!

So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.

Farm IT is awesome

You get to breath in fresh air with that freshly cut grass smell (and a vague whiff of cow dung)

I feel like choosing an instance is pushing me to hierarchically organize aspects of my identity in ways that mean I might stay at dot social forever to avoid thinking about it.
